In the context of Camp Flight, a flight is a curated array of experiential opportunities that introduce young people to multiple disciplines, industries, and ways of thinking. Rather than a single track, a flight offers samples that help participants explore interests, build foundational skills, and connect present choices to future quality of life. It is a structured progression that supports growth in attention, confidence, discipline, and imagination through hands-on learning, reflection, and guided practice.
Camp Flight is entering its fourth year and will operate across four locations. Registration is open while final planning is completed. Camp Flight operates from the first Monday after the public school district dismisses for summer through the final Friday before the fall school season begins. The program runs Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., serving grades 2–3, 4–5, and 6–8 in small cohorts.
Each week includes gardening and financial empowerment, with youth tending soil, growing food, and engaging in ongoing exposure to budgeting, entrepreneurship, investing, and how money moves. Field trips take place every Friday.
Each week also features a different primary module. Examples include science fair projects, team rowing, sailing, film editing, aviation, e-gaming, robotics, and more. These modules extend beyond the activity itself by introducing the surrounding industry and the soft and hard skills required to be effective and complete. Camp Flight blends academic leaning with joy, offering experiential learning that helps youth connect curiosity to real-world pathways.
Registration for this schedule starts on 12/02/2025 and ends on 06/08/2026
Participants must currently be in grades 2 to 8.

1. In the context of Camp Flight, a curated array of experiential opportunities designed to introduce young people to multiple disciplines, industries, and ways of thinking. A flight offers samples rather than a single track, allowing participants to explore interests, build foundational skills, and make informed connections between their present actions and future quality of life.
Camp Flight is entering its fourth year and will operate across four locations. Families should be sure to register for the correct site when enrolling. While final planning is being completed at each site, registration is open for families ready to join a well-conceptualized summer program with a proven culture of safety, engagement, belonging, health, and quality of life.
Camp Flight runs from June 8 through August 21, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. We serve three age groups in small cohorts of 15 to 20 students: grades 2–3, 4–5, and 6–8. Tuition is $400 per week. Lunch is not provided.
Rest assured, our aim is to please while keeping campers deeply engaged and supported, helping them make real connections between who they are right now and who they may become in the future. “Flight” reflects our philosophy: an intentional array of experiences that introduce youth to disciplines and industries that can one day support the quality of life they hope to build.
Safety, care, and belonging are non-negotiable. Camp Flight is air-quality aware, allergy-informed, and strict in its adherence to health and safety protocols. We maintain a strong culture of belonging and anti-bullying, where respect, accountability, and care for one another are actively practiced. Our instructor and guide to camper ratios are high, approximately three to five adults per group of fifteen campers, because engagement and guidance matter. Young people are seen, supported, and coached throughout the day.
The structure is set, even as weekly schedules are finalized. Every week includes gardening, team rowing, art, outdoor activity, and classic camp experiences like tie dye and s’mores. Campers also participate in STEAM labs, science project modules, film editing, and creative exploration. Each week highlights a different primary module to keep learning fresh, challenging, and fun.
Planned offerings include hands-on STEM tinkering, sailing with Northwestern, team rowing at Lincoln Park Boat Club, golf with First Tee at Canal Shores, music industry exploration at IS Pro Studio, e-gaming with I Play Games, film editing with Coquie Hughes, financial empowerment with industry professionals, aviation with AeroStar Avion Institute, culinary arts with Harvest Time, fencing in development, and Legends and Lore through strategy games and storytelling. Weekly field trips and visiting partners extend learning beyond camp walls.
Camp Flight leans academic without losing joy. Mindfulness is practiced daily. Journaling helps campers reflect, regulate, and make meaning. Activities are experiential and playful while introducing the foundational skills, habits, and thinking patterns required across industries. Campers build, test, create, move, and collaborate in ways that connect curiosity to real-world possibility.
Details will be released soon. For families ready to experience a thoughtfully designed, community-rooted summer program now in its fourth year, registration is open. Secure your spot and stay tuned for final program announcements.
